Timeline

In the tradition of other Peace Corps blogs, here is my timeline from submitting my application to arriving in Ecuador for Pre-Service Training (PST). While everyone’s situation is different, it can least give you an idea of how fast (or slow) different steps of the application and clearance process can take.

9/19/2016: Application submitted (know by date of 10/1)
9/22/2016: Placed under consideration for Ecuador
9/29/16: Interview request received
10/12/16: Video interview completed
10/19/16: Invitation to serve in Peace Corps Ecuador received
10/19/16: Offer accepted! (Obviously)
10/20/16: Legal clearance paperwork received
10/28/16: Legal clearance paperwork submitted
11/9/16: Background investigation started
11/11/16: Medical and dental tasks posted online
1/04/17: Legal clearance received
4/20/17: Last day at work
4/25/17: Final medical clearance received (finally!)
5/29/17: Arrived in Miami, FL for Staging
5/31/17: Arrived in Ecuador for PST

The earlier you submit an application and get started on legal and medical tasks the better. The only thing guaranteed is the need for lots of patience!
